I got mixed up between 850ml and 700ml for the split peas part and had a bit too much water in the end. Tremendous fun cooking with a pressure cooker (my first time). I took some water out and kept it in a mug for later which was great the day after when rehydrating some leftovers.

I would like to see some asafoetida/hing used to help round it all off (in your stomach) :-) I always use that.

The smoking part was fun too - what a lovely touch. I did that outside so that the fire alarm wouldn’t trigger.

Great recipe. It works also perfect, when adding coconut cream.

What a recipe! I mean.... Wow! I'm an Indian, and this has to be one of the best dals I've tasted. Me and the wife licked our plates clean. Andy... You've outdone yourself man!
