Want to make the light, fluffy loaf of bread? Here's a recipe for Japanese milk bread. In my opinion, it's the perfect bread for a sando or your toast in the morning. You will need a bit of prep time for this one so your dough can prove but what a nice way to spend your Saturday morning.

Ingredients

  • 325g (about 11.5 oz) bread flour
  • 7g (¼ oz) yeast
  • 120ml (4 fl oz) milk
  • 30g (1 oz) unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 5g (⅛ oz) salt
  • 40g (1.4 oz) sugar
  • 1 egg

Directions

Notes

Tangzhong is a type of roux or paste that is added to your dough to enhance the bread's texture and moisture retention. This is how you get very soft, fluffy bread.
